- Start with the runnerLay a long terracotta cheesecloth runner down the center and let it pool at the ends. Scrunch it a little; it is supposed to look relaxed.
- Add a woven layerPut a round woven charger at every seat. It warms up plain white plates and hides a mismatched set.
- Plates and napkinsWhite plates on top, then a cotton napkin in olive or rust, folded loosely or tied with twine.
- Candles down the middleGroup gold candlesticks with earth-tone tapers in odd numbers, then tuck small white pumpkins between them.
- Finish with paperA printed menu at each setting and a name card on top of the napkin. It is the detail guests take photos of.
